Amanda Mackenzie, Chief Executive of Business in the Community, the Prince's Responsible Business Network, shares her personal vision of responsible business in a public talk at the University of Winchester on Wednesday 15 November 2017.
In Green wash, sound bites, spin and then there's intrinsic responsible business Amanda shares over 25 years of commercial experience in a wide range of industries. Her talk is part of the University's Centre for Responsible Management's 2017 seminar series.
"In her current role as Chief Executive of Business in the Community, Amanda Mackenzie is leading the way in helping businesses get better at tackling key social and environmental issues and in understanding the vital role that responsible leadership has to play in driving real change," said Dr Karen Blakeley, who leads the Centre.
"At the University of Winchester Business School, we aim to engage in the on-going debate amongst educators, business, government, consumers, media and other interested groups on critical issues related to global social responsibility. I know that Amanda's talk will be both inspiring and thought-provoking."
Amanda became Chief Executive of Business in the Community (BITC) in October 2016. BITC works to tackle a wide range of issues that are essential to creating a fairer society and a more sustainable future and is one of The Prince's Charities, a group of not-for-profit organisations of which the Prince of Wales is President.
Before starting at BITC, Amanda sat on Aviva's Group Executive for eight years as chief marketing officer, having been recruited to change the name from Norwich Union. More recently, she spent 18 months on secondment to film director and Comic Relief founder Richard Curtis and team as executive advisor/chair for Project Everyone, launching The United Nations' Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
Amanda is a graduate of London University and INSEAD. Her experience includes director roles at British Airways Airmiles, British Telecom, HP and British Gas. Amanda was awarded an OBE for services to marketing in the New Year's Honours 2014.
