Our expert Schools and Colleges Team are available to deliver a variety of talks and workshops on campus, virtually, or in person at your school or college. All our sessions are designed to enable every student to make informed decisions about progression to Higher Education, whilst supporting your Gatsby Benchmarks.

Degree Apprenticeships
Our Degree Apprenticeships talk explains what a degree apprenticeship is and the advantages and disadvantages of this alternative provision.

HE Choices
This talk provides an overview of all Higher Education opportunities available for students leaving College or FE, demonstrating different pathways to achieving a degree or higher-level qualifications.

Intro to HE
This talk gives a simple but comprehensive overview of what Higher Education entails. It outlines the reasons for further study and explains some of the places students can get started in researching if it’s a route for them. It also highlights some of the myths associated with studying Higher Education.

Post 18 Options
The Post 18 Options talk demonstrates all the opportunities once leaving school or college, including a wide variety of pathways and experiences available to young people upon completion of their Level 3 qualifications.

Making the most of Year 12
This talk is perfect for those at the end of year 10 or in year 11 as it discusses what is next after school, the next steps and the importance of year 12.

Next Steps and Transitioning to HE
This session looks at the challenges of starting university, moving away from home and the likely differences of university to school or college. The session will think about resilience for study and developing techniques to work through change and challenges.

Personal Statements
This talk acts as guide to what admissions tutors are looking for in a statement, common mistakes to avoid and how students can make the most of their strengths and experiences.

Personal statement Clinic
Applicants can meet with team members 1 to 1 to receive advice, guidance and feedback on applicants' Personal statement, whichever stage of their application they are at. Clinics would be run on site at your School or College, or virtually.

Student Finance and Budgeting
This talk provides an overview of the financial support available, including the latest information on tuition fee loans, maintenance loans, student loan repayment, budgeting and how to plan ahead for managing finances. It also ensures students are aware of scholarships and bursaries they can access.

UCAS Application Process
This talk is an introduction to all aspects of the application process including: setting up Apply, what UCAS Track is all about and what happens once an application is sent. This can also consider UCAS Extra and Clearing.

Parents and Supporters’ webinars
We are launching a Parents and Supporters’ webinar series aimed at those with year 12s and year 13s considering their options and preparing for going to university. Whether you went to university or not, this is your first or third child to go to university or your young person is undecided about whether to go to university, start paid employment straight after college, do a gap year or explore degree apprenticeships, we hope these sessions will offer further insights and support to you. Half- Term Workshops
Join the Schools and Colleges Team on Wednesday 30th October 2024 between 10:30 and 15:00 for our Autumn Half-Term workshop! There will be a range of sessions focusing on applying to University and writing a personal statement. For our Autumn workshop, it is focused for Year 12 & 13 (Sixth Form/College) and those wishing to return to education. Please note: academic sessions are not provided.
