Biography

I am Professor of Geography, Geology and Environment. I joined the University of Winchester on 1 August 2025 as Head of the newly formed School of Psychology and Social Sciences, in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, having previously held a professorial post at the University of Hull.

My main research interests are in the development of new remote sensing methods to improve understanding of geological and environmental processes. My research seeks to develop new insights into environmental processes and anthropogenic related effects on the environment at a wide range of spatial and temporal scales using novel monitoring and mapping methodologies. My research approach is interdisciplinary, highly applied and internationally focused.
