Black History Month 2021 The Inside Out podcast: Mental Health Pandemic

8 Oct 2021

As we mark Black History Month 2021 this October, the University community continues to celebrate and honour our Black students, staff members, alumni and partners.

The national theme of Black History Month 2021 is 'Proud To Be' and we are proud to launch a new series of podcasts and videos called The Inside Out. This mini-series brings together student voices for open and honest conversations about race and diversity, seen from their perspective.

In the run up to World Mental Health Day this Sunday 10 October, we are publishing the first episode, which explores issues around mental health. University of Winchester BAME Ambassadors Alisha and Shelina speaking to a small group of Winchester students (Kienan, Naz, Oshi and Phoebe) to understand how Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic, LGBTQ+ and disabled communities suffer from mental health conditions, the stigma attached, and how the University is offering to help those from all backgrounds.
