Biography

Deepa has a thirty-year career spanning the public and not-for-profit sectors. She began her career as a speech writer and media liaison for Paddy Ashdown MP, during his tenure as Leader of the Liberal Democrats before going on to work in the public sector for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Whilst at RBKC, Deepa was involved in the development and delivery of a £5 million multi-service, faith-based centre, at that time the largest of its kind in London. Deepa has worked in a number of senior positions within the not-for-profit sector, largely in health and education charities, and has led charities since 2008. Currently, Deepa is the Director of the RCN Foundation, a grant-giving charity that supports nursing and midwifery across the UK. She is a member of ACEVO and provides mentoring support to charity Chief Executives. In her spare time, Deepa enjoys travelling, reading and gardening.
