Caroline Nicolson is a Senior Lecturer in Social Work. Caroline registered as a Social Worker in 2008 and worked predominantly within children and families local authority practice. Caroline’s roles included, social worker within an assessment team, as well as an assistant team manager of a team supporting children in need and child subject to child protection plans. Caroline worked within a workforce development team particularly focusing upon support provided to newly qualitied social workers throughout their assessed and supported year in employment.
Caroline is a qualified Practice Educator and has a keen interest in how supervision and 1:1 support can enhance the experience of social work practitioners. Prior to joining the university of Winchester in 2022, Caroline obtained experience of strategic development looking at service improvement across a range of Local Authorities.
Caroline teaches across the social work programmes and is the programme lead for the Step-up Programme.
Caroline obtained HEA Fellowship in August 2024 and is looking forward to further opportunities to enhance her practice.
