Biography

I am Reader in Psychology. Having had a previous career in the financial services and banking industry and knowing that it was not going to be my passion for the remainder of my working life, I made the decision to change direction. I first read Psychology at the Open University achieving 1st Class BSc (hons) in psychology. Having chosen to specialise as a Health Psychologist I undertook a MSc Health Psychology at the University of Surrey before continuing on to undertake a PhD alongside my health psychology Stage 2 training Postgraduate Certificate in Health Psychology Practice. In addition to undertaking a number of consultancy positions I have been a teaching fellow at the University of Surrey before moving to the University of Winchester in 2016 to take up a lectureship.

I am Convener of the Engaging Communities Research Centre and a member of the Healthy Lives Research Group.

Higher Education Teaching Qualification: Higher Education Academy Associate Fellowship (FHEA).
