Dr. Scott Hannah is a senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Physiology. He completed his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology at Ulster University. Before that, he earned an MSc in Sport and Exercise Physiology from Middlesex University and a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Sciences from University Campus Suffolk.
Dr. Hannah's primary research interests revolve around calcium and bone metabolism response to exercise. He is particularly interested in environmental physiology, oxygen kinetics, and vascular health. Current PhD supervision includes vascular responses to robot gait assisted training, resistance training, and long COVID.
Previously, Dr. Hannah has held positions such as a Lecturer in Exercise Physiology at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine and an Associate Lecturer at London Metropolitan University. He also served as a Laboratory Technician at Trinity Laban.
As an educator, he is known for his lectures in human physiology, physiological assessments for sport, clinical physiology, and clinical exercise physiology. He is a proud member of The Physiological Society.
Dr. Hannah follows a first principles approach to both research and teaching. He harbors a keen interest in studying the effects of exercise on bone health, especially focusing on the acute catabolic response following aerobic exercise.
