Campus Sports Facilities
The University of Winchester main campus is home to our Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), sports hall, and gym. The MUGA and sports hall can both be used to play a wide variety of sports and are frequently used by both student and external sports teams for training and competitions. Due to the demand for these facilities, it is important to book in advance
Sports Hall
The Sports Hall is housed in the Bowers Building on campus. It is used for teaching, casual sports use, and SU Sport training. The sports hall is perfect for hosting a wide range of sports from Basketball, Volleyball, Dodgeball, Futsal, Frisbee, Badminton, Netball, and more. This facility can be booked by staff, students, and members of the local community for casual use. This facility includes attached changing rooms and an elevated viewing gallery for spectators.
Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA)
The John Shannon Sports Ground (MUGA) is situated on the King Alfred Quarter, behind the Performing Arts buildings. This is an enclosed Tiger Turf All-Weather Pitch which houses two tennis courts, two 5-a-side pitches and one netball court. Please note this is an outdoor facility and it is not flood lit. This facility can be booked by staff, students, and members of the local community for casual use.
