Academic Quality
The Quality Office (QO) is responsible for managing our processes to assure the quality and standards of its academic provision. It is housed within the Academic Quality and Development department, which also houses Learning and Teaching Development.
Key areas of management and responsibility are:
- Annual programme monitoring
- Academic Regulations and associated policies
- Audits and reviews
- Collaborative Provision
- External Examiners
- Periodic programme review
- Programme Approval and modifications
- Quality Assurance procedures
- Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies Register
- Student Appeals
In managing the above activities, the Quality Office is also responsible for:
- Provide professional expert advice and information to University colleagues, external bodies and partner organisations in relation to quality assurance matters
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures and Academic Regulations that support academic activity and meet the FHEQ and UK Quality Code for Higher Education
- Assist with the understanding of and monitor the implementation of the University's quality assurance system
- Work with Learning and Teaching Development at the University to ensure that the University’s enhancement drives are developed alongside quality assurance considerations, and vice-versa
Act as a central contact for external quality assurance activities and bodies, such as:
- Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRB)
- Quality Assurance Agency (QAA)
