Study Abroad at Winchester: A friendly community in a beautiful historic city only an hour from London.
Once the ancient capital of England and former seat of King Alfred the Great, Winchester is the quintessential English city with a rich heritage and vibrant contemporary culture - truly an inspiring place to both live and study. Not far from the coast, with its small friendly community and excellent transport connections (one hour from London), it is not surprising that Winchester is regularly voted one of the best places to live in England.
Our modern university campus is located just a short walk from the city centre and offers excellent facilities, including on campus accommodation.
The University of Winchester has welcomed Study Abroad students for more than 40 years and our Global Mobility team provides dedicated support at every stage of the journey. Study Abroad students are encouraged to tailor their academic experience by choosing modules from a range of high-quality programmes across the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Business and Sport.
Study Abroad students have full access to our university support services as well as Winchester’s Student Union, which offers a variety of societies and sport teams. At Winchester, we offer a supportive and engaging learning community, where students studying abroad can make connections and feel a sense of belonging.

We grew both as students and as people and we would never trade this experience for anything" - (Magi and Emily, Lander University, USA)
"Coming to Winchester was one of the best decisions I’ve made so far. For one thing, Winchester provided me with a safe, friendly and diverse learning environment that helped me grow intellectually and personally" - (Graeme, Westminster College, USA)
