Why Winchester?

Graduation at the Winchester Cathedral

Deciding where to spend the next few years of your life can be quite daunting. Not only are you dedicating three (or in some cases more) years to studying in a new town or city, you’ll more than likely be moving there too!

Now for me, moving to Winchester wasn’t the bravest of moves. I only actually relocated a grand total of 25 miles away from my hometown. Such an adventure, right?!
I have learnt so many things living in this beautiful historic city and I would not change my decision to move here for the world. Here are a few reasons why I think you’d love it just as much as I do:

Pubs. All the Pubs.

Inside a pub

Ranging from the oldest pub in England to a pub where your wine is served from a vending machine – Winchester has it all.

The restaurants

Again, Winchester has it covered. If you’re a foodie, this is definitely the place for you.

We’re only an hour away from London

View of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament across the River Thames

Just hop on the train and you’ll be at Waterloo Station in no time.

Graduating in Winchester Cathedral is pretty cool

It’s such a lovely venue, you can get the best pictures!

BOP

Cheerleading society at BOP

Although there isn’t the biggest selection of nightlife (or best… *cough* Vodka), we do have great nights run by the Student Union. If you like dressing up, making silly costumes and covering yourself head to toe in face paint then you will love BOP. Did I mention they also play the cheesiest music? SO. MUCH. FUN.

Of course, there are much more reasons than this – you will just have to come along and find out for yourself.  Who knows, maybe you’ll even end up staying here after you graduate, I have!
