What are you up to these days?

I’m a staff writer for a social enterprise called Community Inspired, which helps schools and PTAs with their fundraising. I do most of the in-house writing for our two magazines, which involves thinking of feature ideas, researching stories and interviewing fundraisers. So far I’ve had 150 pages published over nine issues, and I also write features for our two websites.

Favourite uni memory

At the introductory writing workshop in first year a girl called Bethan exploded her pen in front of me. That one stupid moment meant we got talking and ended up living together. In October I was her bridesmaid.
(Plus special mention goes to falling in a grave during a silent writing exercise in Creativity 1.)

Advice for new students

Don’t burn yourself out and remember to look after your mental health, plus that of your friends. Be there for people and remember they’re there for you too.

Best thing about the University of Winchester

That it’s a small, friendly university with a beautiful campus. You feel like you really matter rather than just being a number in thousands.

Guilty pleasure

British sitcoms. I’ve seen or listened to over 250 dating back to the 1950s and I collect out-of-print comedy books. My bank account does not thank me.
