Award of up to £2,000
Lady Mary has been unwavering in her support ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to pursue Higher Education at University, regardless of their background.
As part of our Access and Participation Plan, the University awards eligible full-time undergraduate UK, EU* and Channel Island students a bursary of £500 in each year of study. A further £500 Graduation Bursary will be awarded to recipients upon successful completion of their course after the final year of study.
The bursary will be awarded to Young Adult Carers between the ages of 18 and 25 who look after a relative or friend, of any age, due to disability, chronic/terminal illness, mental health problem or an alcohol or drug addiction/dependency. It is recognised that they may face different issues to other carers and maybe looking at moving out of home, going into Higher Education or juggling working lives with continuing to be a carer.
Eligibility information and how to apply:
Students must be:
- Under 25 on 1 September, the year they start their course
- Able to provide evidence of their young adult carer status

Successful applicants will receive their award in two equal instalments, one in each semester.
