The Continuous Improvement unit ultimately aims to embed a culture of Continuous Improvement right across the University and to empower and inspire both staff and students to make positive changes to the way the University works.

Continuous Improvement is founded on the belief that there is always the possibility of making things better, and that change should be informed and enabled by people’s skills knowledge and experience.

As a Continuous Improvement hub we are the first port of call for anyone who needs help to improve processes, save time, solve problems or unravel complex issues.

The Winchester Way

Our approach is based on three core pillars:

  • Respect for people
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Eliminated wasted time and effort

Our Accredited Training

We are accredited by LCS (Lean Competency System) to offer lean training and currently offer this at 2 levels: we can also offer Lean Leaders Training.

Lean Foundations - Yellow Belt

A one-day introduction to Lean, providing the skills and tools needed to be able to make independent contributions to improvement projects and to run small projects. Provides a set of comprehensive tools which can be put to immediate use in day to day activities.

On completion of the two days attendees are asked to identify, run and document an independent Continuous Improvement Project.
