Which of your fellow alumni will you nominate? Our Alumni Recognition Award celebrates the achievements of our incredible alumni. It is presented annually. Keep an eye out for the call for nominations for the Alumni Recognition Award 2018 soon.

Represent alumni views

You are an expert on the alumni experience. Help to shape the future developments of the Winton Club by sitting on the Winton Club Committee or bring your expertise as the former student Governor on our Board of Governors. Keep an eye on this page for the most recent details of vacancies.

We also are on the lookout for some more Year Group Representatives, to act as the liaison between the alumni office and your year group. Get in touch for more information on how you can help.

Share your story or a memory

Have a great story about an act you saw at the Student Union as a student? Want to share your news of a professional success? Are you currently having an amazing international experience? We would love to hear your memories from your student days as well as your current news. Get in touch and we could feature your story on our website, our social media channels or in Venta, our magazine.

Do you have items from your time as a student here? Whether event tickets, pictures from any era, or a sports jersey please send us pictures to add to our Winton Club archives.

Attend an event on campus

From talks on our recent research to discussions on key themes in today’s world, you are very welcome to come back to campus for our range of events open to you.

Of course, remember our Alumni events, including our annual Winton Club Reunion each summer and Winchester Student Union’s Winton Weekend each February. More details are on the alumni events page.

Engage with subject-specific opportunities

From Creative Writing alumni raising attainment in English for GCSE pupils, to Forensic Psychology alumni attending the launch of our new Centre for Forensic and Investigative Psychology, we have chances to stay involved with your subject area. Make sure we have your up-to-date contact details so we can invite to take part.

Donate to support our students and our future

Through the Winton Club, there is a long tradition of alumni helping existing students through donations to the Winton Benevolent Fund. The Winton Benevolent Fund gives students the opportunity for support for hardship or to enhancement development opportunities.

Remembering Winchester in your will by leaving a legacy to the University is a lasting gift to future students and to the continuing development of this unique place in years to come. If you would like to include the University of Winchester in your Will, a solicitor will be able to advise you which type of legacy suits you best.

Winton Teaching Association

The Winton Teacher Association is a professional network free to all alumni who teach or have taught.

We aim to enhance the employability and professional development of our alumni, through the provision of mentoring, support and networking opportunities.

The Winton Teacher Association is ideal for alumni of all ages and levels of experience:

  • Senior teacher alumni can play a leading role in supporting the career progression of alumni, sharing their expertise and encouraging the future generation of teachers
  • Recently qualified teachers can benefit from the support and advice of more experienced alumni in the teaching profession
  • Networking and sharing best practice is advantageous to all teacher alumni

As a member of the Winton Teacher Association, you will:

  • Be a part of a mutually supportive, non-judgemental community of teachers, whom all share a link with Winchester
  • Receive invitations to regular face-to-face networking events (such as the annual Winton Teacher Association event and the Early Career Teacher Conference)

Become a member

Membership to the Winton Teacher Association is free and there is no formal commitment. You are eligible if you are currently, or have been a teacher, and attended King Alfred’s College, University College Winchester or the University of Winchester (regardless of which course(s) you undertook).
