The University of Winchester's Faculty of Business, Law and Digital Technologies is sponsoring Winchester Fashion Week (WFW) 2022, the city's annual celebration of style, which takes place from 4 to 9 April.
The University will also host the Grand Finale Catwalk Show at its King Alfred Campus on Sparkford Road for the first time on Saturday 9 April from 7pm.
The sponsorship is supporting a wide array of activities, as well as offering students studying on the BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing, BA (Hons) Fashion Business and BA (Hons) Event Management degree programmes an opportunity to get involved.
Students will be running mini events throughout the week, including a networking and workshop event with retail brands and local independents on 8 April. Students will also be supporting the Grand Finale Catwalk Show, including taking part as models.
Professor Martin Broad, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Law and Digital Technologies at the University of Winchester, said: "I am delighted that the Faculty is once again sponsoring Winchester Fashion Week in 2022.
"Our involvement presents an opportunity to support local fashion businesses and help create value economically, socially, and culturally here in our city. It also provides a fantastic opportunity for our fashion students to get involved in the event in a variety of ways, to gain employability skills, shape their educational experience and contribute to the local community."
The University is a long-time supporter of the event, which is now in its 11th year and is coordinated by Winchester Business Improvement District (BID). Events this year include masterclasses, showcases, exhibitions, stylist workshops, shopping events and the Grand Finale Catwalk Show.
The Show will showcase national and local independent retailers in the city, including Anthropologie; Gieves and Hawkes; Jigsaw; Ellie and Bea and Brides of Wichester.
