The University of Winchester is connecting potential degree apprentices with employers in a special series of free virtual masterclass events to mark National Apprenticeship Week 2021 (8-14 February).
The masterclasses will highlight the possibilities of degree apprenticeships, which offer a way into a career that pays a salary and combines university-based teaching with structured, on the job training.
Designed to showcase the University's range of degree apprenticeship courses, including digital technology solutions, data science, Nursing and management, each session includes an introduction to the programme and explanation of the application process.
There will be a chance to connect with some of the University's partner employers including CGI, Fujitsu, Zurich Insurance Group and others who are currently looking to recruit to their degree apprenticeship schemes, as well as an opportunity to meet some of the team and ask questions about apprenticeships.
"The University of Winchester is at the forefront of universities offering apprenticeship degrees, working with national and local employers to give individuals opportunities to 'earn and learn', perfectly encapsulating our aim to prepare our students for the ever-changing world of work," said Professor Martin Broad, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Law and Digital Technologies, who will be welcoming potential degree apprentices to the masterclasses.
"At a time when many young people are making decisions about their futures, I'm delighted to invite them to explore with us the exciting opportunities degree apprenticeships present."
Last year, the University was ranked as one of the UK's top 50 training providers at the RateMyApprenticeship Awards 2020 for its degree apprenticeship courses.
