Miss Ellie Waters

Biography

Ellie is the President (Student Voice) at Winchester Students' Union where she leads on student representation, governance, and advocacy. As President (Student Voice), Ellie is responsible for championing the academic interests, rights, and collective voice of students, and ensuring that student perspectives shape Union priorities and influence decision-making at the highest levels of the University and WinchSU.

Ellie has recently completed her degree in Primary Education at the University of Winchester and has previously worked in school settings supporting children with SEND. During her degree, Ellie was involved in WinchSU activities through taking the role of Welfare Officer and then Chairing the Performing Arts Winchester society.

As Student Governor on the University’s Board of Governors, Ellie represents the collective student voice within the University’s most senior decision-making structures. Ellie is also Chair of the Union's Board of Trustees, where she provides student leadership, oversight, and accountability of the Union’s charitable, financial, and strategic direction as a Trustee/Director of the organisation. 

As an Elected Officer, Ellie is very passionate supporting the student experience and putting students at the heart of everything the Students' Union and University does, and is committed to listening, acting on student feedback and creating positive change that benefits the whole student community.
