Bill is the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Crime and Justice. He joined the University in 2022. Previously he was the founding Head of the School of Law at the University of Worcester. A commercial lawyer, Bill has extensive experience of teaching on and designing LLB and LLM programmes and developing outstanding employability provision.
Bill has previously held a senior role in the School of Law and Criminology at the University of Greenwich and has worked at the University of Hertfordshire, teaching on a range of law courses across both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Before entering the world of legal education, Bill was a professional violinist, studying first at Chetham’s School of Music and the Royal Academy of Music and then embarking on a 20-year career performing in ensembles such as the BBC Concert Orchestra, the London Concert Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. He also worked in musical theatre, first in Manchester on a two-year run of the Phantom of the Opera and then extensively in the West End, holding a position in the Les Miserables orchestra for seven years.
