Sustainable solutions changing lives: Ecobrix and how they are tackling plastic pollution in Uganda
Book nowWednesday 5 October 2022, 1-2pm BST
University of Winchester, Sparkford Road, Winchester SO22 4NR
Our alumnus Andy Bownds shares the extraordinary story of EcoBrixs, a charity that is transforming lives in Uganda through plastic recycling. EcoBrixs has developed a unique circular model that creates jobs, increases awareness, provides education and supports the most vulnerable.
Starting in a back garden in 2017 the charity has grown rapidly, recycling over 350 tonnes of plastic waste and creating 3000 income opportunities for local people. The innovative eco-products from recycling have been utilised in the construction and healthcare industries.
Whether you are interested in environmental issues, international development, or entrepreneurship or just want to hear a feel-good story from a University of Winchester graduate on a Wednesday lunchtime we’d love to see you there. Bring your own lunch and be inspired!
