Welcome to the Department of Law, Economics, Accounting and Finance
The Department of Law, Economics, Accounting and Finance is a forward-looking department offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. As a department we strive to provide the best educational experience for all our students by combining excellence in learning and teaching with a strong and active research culture. All of our programmes are designed to provide a combination of academic rigour and practical relevance, as informed by employer expectations and research-based findings.
Our growing portfolio of programmes is accredited by a number of professional bodies such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Association of Charted Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Law Research Centres
The Centre for Information Rights (CIR) examines the overlap between information and privacy law, and new technologies and methods of data analysis.
CIR organises the annual Conference on Trust, Risk, Information and the Law (TRILCon), open to academics, postgraduate students, policy-makers and practitioners.
Centre for Parliament and Public Law
The Centre for Parliament and Public Law is an interdisciplinary centre focussed on all aspects of Public Law, with an emphasis on issues that cross the threshold of politics and law such as Brexit, the Monarchy, Human Rights and Devolution.
